Zonta Clubs in the Region of South America Partners to Make Donations Toward COVID-19 Relief Efforts

The Zonta clubs of RSA decided to donated health kits and items to different women's organizations to help in preventing the spread of COVID-19. 

After a Zoom meeting between the clubs in Chile and Uruguay, the members decided to help in the fight against this global pandemic that has affected so many lives  in South America.

Club members checked with the different women's organizations located around them that needed items like gel alcohol, rubber gloves, chinstraps, and winter clothes.

The Zonta clubs of Vinia del Mar and Santiago - Chile donated gel alcohol and some chinstraps to the Emma Foundation, which is dedicated to helping pregnant women. They also help people with low incomes. The club also sent winter clothes to Betania Acoge Foundation, which helps women in vulnerable situations.

In Uruguay, the Zonta Club of Montevideo gave winter clothing, bedding and fabric and donated money to buy disinfectant products to CEPRODHI (Center for the Promotion of Human Dignity) and a sheltered place for homeless people.

The Zonta Club of Punta del Este-Maldonado distributed COVID-19 kits ( gel alcohol, rubber gloves, and chinstraps) to users at Zonta Care Center for Women and their children who were survivors of domestic violence.
