Zonta Club of Hong Kong II supports local organizations during the early months of the COVID-19 pandemic

The Zonta Club of Hong Kong II supported several programs during the early months of COVID-19, providing masks and food to those in need.

The club sourced 100,000 single-use surgical masks and donated them to seven nongovernmental organization partners, including St. James' Settlement, Impact HK, Mother's Choice, Hong Kong Red Cross, LOVE Project by Gingko House, Direction Association and Hong Kong Neuro-Muscular Disease Association.

The club also committed to a plan to support Much Talent in Hong Kong by employing women to sew 2,000 reusable fabric masks for low-income families.

On food relief, donations were made to St. James’ Settlement’s food support program, benefiting 300 single-mother families and Love Project by Gingko House, providing 3,000 meals for the elderly and the unemployed.

In addition to the club’s donation, members and their families also participated in a Mighty Oaks’ gifts for elders’ program, making around 200 love boxes for the elderly who were particularly vulnerable and isolated during the crisis.

Through these COVID-19 projects, the club was able to empower women, such as those at Sew Much Talent, and support those in need with its donation, mask distribution and love boxes.
