Zonta Club of Kathmandu partners with the police and lawyers to help survivors of domestic violence

There was a significant increase of domestic violence cases during the lockdown implemented to curb the spread of COVID-19. The Zonta Club of Kathmandu, Nepal, partnered with the Nepal Police and a group of 14 lawyers to help these women.

When police received a call relating to domestic violence, the survivor was directed to the group of lawyers, who provided counseling, gave the women hope and confidence, and informed them of their legal rights.

The initiative received coverage in the national dailies and online media, bringing attention to Zonta International and the Zonta Club of Kathmandu.
