Zonta Club of Pokhara raises awareness with 'Legal Awareness on Domestic Violence' program

On 2 January, the Zonta Club of Pokhara, Nepal, organized a small program called "Legal Awareness on Domestic Violence" for the marginalized women of Ward No. 9. The club coordinated with their municipality and found out that the cases of domestic violence are high in that particular area.

Advocate Binita Nepali spoke on legal measures to take if subjected to domestic violence. The club's aim was to raise awareness in ending domestic violence and helping the survivors deal with different situations arising out of the violence.

There were more than 32 participants who were very interested and some even benefited from this program. The kind of impact the club wanted to make was met, as four participants were encouraged and motivated to take necessary legal steps not only to fight but put an end to the violence to which they are being subjected.
