Zonta Club of Taipei II celebrates chartering of its new Golden Z club

On 21 November, members of the Zonta Club of Taipei II and New Dawn Golden Z Club gathered for a joyful ceremony, a boost in Zonta spirit amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Most of the 19 Golden Z club members, including three men, are recipients of the scholarships offered by the Zonta Club of Taipei II. The students from various universities are distinguished not only in academic performances but also in volunteer work in school and off-campus programs.

The induction and installation were presided over by District 31 Z Club and Golden Z Club Committee Chairman Irene Chen. Zonta Club of Taipei II President Ching-Hui Shih, District 31 Governor Vivienne Shen, Area I Director Diana Cheng, District 31 Advocacy Committee Chairman Yu-Hwa Peng and several club members gave "red envelopes" (cash gifts) to New Dawn as seed money for their future service work. Taipei II Z and Golden Z Club Z committee Chairman Daphne Wu also prepared gifts for everybody.

Rong-Erh Liang, president of the New Dawn Golden Z Club, presented the plan to organize a winter camp in early 2021 for suburban Taipei primary school students, which will include events involving people in a senior home. New Dawn's immediate task is to help recruit more members from recipients of 2020 Taipei II scholarship award to be announced in mid-December. They are also volunteering with a food bank in December.
