Become a Zontian

Are you aware that the better off women are, the better off their children and families are, and in turn, the better the communities they live in are? Do you have a heart for impacting the lives of women around the globe?

Join Zonta International as a member, and become part of a group of more than 30,000 individuals who are working together to change the lives of women and girls in their local communities and around the world. Each member of Zonta International belongs to a club that typically holds meetings once per month.  From monthly meetings, clubs plan and conduct service and advocacy projects to improve women’s lives in a variety of ways.

A few examples of Zonta International service and advocacy club projects are:

  • Getting involved with a local domestic violence shelter for teen outreach and education efforts
  • Posting messages in local communities that raise awareness of human trafficking and encourage people to take a stand against this crime
  • Conducting workshops that assist women with resume writing and interviewing skills to enable them to become financially independent

Members also raise money for the Zonta International Foundation. Donations can be directed to Zonta’s international service projects or the following programs: Zonta International Strategies to End Violence Against Women (ZISVAW), Amelia Earhart Fellowship, Jane M. Klausman Women in Business Scholarship and Young Women in Public Affairs Award.  Each member is able to give collectively with their club or individually to whichever fund they choose.

A few examples of fundraisers that can be organized by clubs are:

  • Concerts or panel discussions
  • Community walks
  • Farmer’s market sales

Additionally, members have the opportunity to attend the Zonta International biennial convention that is held every two years in different locations throughout the world as well as attend their district and area conferences.  These events offer the opportunity to make new friendships while maintaining existing ones and to learn about the status of women locally and globally.

Together, we’re stronger and can accomplish great things.  We invite you to join us in our great mission to help change the world for women and girls!
