The data collected by ZI/ZIF is used to help ZI/ZIF better serve its members and donors. What information we collect

The information stored is only personal information provided by members and other visitors to the website.

General users: ZI/ZIF does not collect personal information from users browsing our website. Users from the public browsing the ZI/ZIF website will do so anonymously. Aggregate data such as the number of visits per page will be recorded and stored. Aggregate data does not provide any personally identifying information.

Members and donors: For access to ‘members only’ resources and any other personal feature on the website, members and other users will be asked to register and provide some limited information. This data is submitted voluntarily. The form will ask the user to provide information including name, address, email address, interests and other information similar to what is submitted to ZI/ZIF through membership applications, convention or conference registrations, Zonta store orders, subscriptions and contribution forms.

How we use the information

Disclosure to third parties: ZI/ZIF does not sell, trade or rent your personal information to third parties unless required by law.

Leadership directory: Basic contact information for ZI/ZIF leadership at the international, district and club levels is made available to members only and others when appropriate.

Online membership networking directory: Through the online membership networking directory, ZI/ZIF makes member contact information available for those members who expressly authorize such information sharing to other members using the website and to those who register for convention.

Use of cookies: A cookie is a small file placed on the hard drive of the computer. The use of cookies is an industry standard and are today used in most major websites. ZI/ZIF’s website uses cookies to enhance the experience while using the website. ZI/ZIF uses cookies to perform certain automated activity such as storing and tracking passwords. Cookies are not used to collect or analyze any information about users that users have knowingly or unknowingly provided. A browser can be set to refuse or accept cookies.

Protection against loss, misuse or alteration of information: ZI/ZIF has security measures in place to protect the information under its control. We cannot guarantee, however, that our measures will prevent ‘hackers’ or others with criminal intent, to illegally obtain information.

Credit card information: ZI/ZIF does not disclose credit card information provided by members and donors. When a member chooses to donate or otherwise pay by credit card, ZI/ZIF submits the information required to obtain payment to the appropriate clearinghouse. All information provided to ZI/ZIF is transmitted using SSL (Secure Socket Layer)

Consent to use of personal information

ZI/ZIF or its agents must store, host and otherwise process the information, including personal data, supplied by all users when registering to the website. This data may be stored outside of the European Union. By registering for the ZI/ZIF website, users are giving their consent that the personal information they have provided can be stored in countries outside of the EU, including the United States.

Members may change their information by sending an email to membership@zonta.org or by mail to the address indicated below or by using the member update feature in the Member Resources section of the website.
