Aliya Sabir, an 18-year-old from Helsingborg, Sweden, was rewarded threefold for her work as a leader and founder of the organization Young Integration, at a District 21 award ceremony in Lund, Sweden.
Sabir received three different Young Women in Public Affairs scholarships. Club President Anna Lind presented her with the local scholarship and Eva Bergknut, chairman of the District Scholarship Committee, presented her with the district scholarship. Sabir also received the International Young Women in Public Affairs Award from the hands of Governor Christina Rylander Bergqvist, who gave a speech congratulating Sabir and presenting her with a diploma and award pin.
It was a very solemn evening, with many Zontians and guests listening with pride to the recipient's story about her work with integrating young refugees into Swedish society.
