Along with the usual aspects of the conference held in October, District 6 added a service project this year, focusing on feminine hygiene. Organizers of the conference asked attendees to bring feminine hygiene products to be donated to The Road Home Dane County homeless shelter in Madison, USA.
The initiative, called the Period Project, brought in over US$5,000 worth of products. Intended to be a way to support women in the U.S. who may not be able to afford hygiene products on a regular basis, 150 Period Packs were created. Each pack has pads, tampons, hygiene wipes, soap, hand sanitizer, and underwear.
