Four e-Club members and a former Zontian provided stuffed Christmas stockings and food for the Casa Hogar Villa Francisco Javier Nuno Orphanage, which is located in Tepatitlan, Jalisco, Mexico.
Currently, there are 45 girls and 20 boys that live there and the nuns provide them with love and nurturing. Judy Strothmann, Kaye Anderson, and Sharon Hebert from Oklahoma, Teresa Hernandez from Mexico, and Diana Furst, a former Zontian from Oklahoma, wanted to do more than just give the children much needed towels so they decided to stuff Christmas stockings with dolls, hair ties, bubbles, cookies, candies, hot wheel cars and playing cards.
A friend of Zonta's that owns multiple shops, donated all of the additional items to the e-Club members via discount and also donated the Christmas stockings.
They also provided the orphanage with food such as rice, beans, two types of cereal, sugar, cornmeal to make tortillas, and a special holiday drink mix.
Additionally, they bought five soccer balls and the game Jenga for the entire orphanage to use and play with.
