The biggest annual fundraiser for the Zonta Club of Helsinki II in Finland (District 20) is Tammikahvit, or what the members call “January afternoon coffee.” The event, which welcomes about 300 women, was held on the last Saturday in January.
The event is famous locally for the fashion show, lottery, and interesting speakers and entertainment. This year, Professor Anna-Liisa Laine gave a speech on women as researchers in science. There was also a young competitive dance couple who performed for the audience. 11-year-old Maria and Stefan amazed the audience with their talents. The fashion show featured ten famous boutiques and designers gave a preview of their spring collections.
