Zonta International President Susanne von Bassewitz will join a panel of experts from Interpol, Worldbank, the UN Office of Drugs and Crime and EndFGM to discuss forced and early marriage at an international conference on Friday, 24 May in Vienna, Austria.
This conference, Forced and Early Marriage: A Severe Human Rights Violation, will introduce the UNFPA-UNICEF Global Programme to Accelerate Action to End Child Marriage. This program is present in 12 countries: Bangladesh, Burkina Faso, Ethiopia, Ghana, India, Mozambique, Nepal, Niger, Sierra Leone, Uganda, Yemen and Zambia and is made possible with the support of Zonta International, the first private sector donor to the Programme.
