Through funding from Zonta International Foundation, the Zonta International Strategies to End Violence Against Women (ZISVAW) Program has provided more than US$5.5 million to support projects to prevent and end violence against women and girls in 42 countries. These projects have made enormous strides in protecting and promoting the rights of women and girls; however, many more women and girls still need Zonta's support.
I am so pleased to announce a new opportunity to donate to the ZISVAW Fund for the next month. Zonta International Foundation has joined the Macy's Shop for a Cause Charity Challenge, a friendly fundraising campaign where charities across the U.S. compete to raise the most money with the top teams winning grand prize cash donations.
Through 9 August at 1:59:59 p.m. EDT, we are collecting donations through our Macy's Charity Challenge page for a chance to win US$100,000. All donations will go to the ZISVAW Fund to help end violence against women and girls, one of the most pervasive and least recognized human rights violations that affects women and girls of every race, class, culture, ethnicity, age and country.
Participating organizations are competing for up to US$300,000 in cash prizes with the top five organizations winning grand prizes.
US$200,000 in Grand Prizes:
- 1st place - US$100,000
- 2nd place - US$50,000
- 3rd place - US$25,000
- 4th place - US$15,000
- 5th place - US$10,000
plus, Bonus Challenge prizes totaling an additional US$100,000
Some important notes about the Charity Challenge:
