Today, on 20 February, Zonta International is joining the United Nations in recognizing the World Day of Social Justice.

According to the UN, social justice is “an underlying principle for peaceful and prosperous coexistence within and among nations,” and promoting gender equality is one way to uphold the principles of social justice.

Zonta International envisions a world in which women's rights are recognized as human rights and every woman is able to achieve her full potential. Thus, pursuing social justice is at the core of our mission and vision.

It is because of social justice that Zonta International partners with UN agencies to support international projects that empower women and girls, helps women achieve their professional goals through our scholarships, fellowships and awards, and works to achieve the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda.

Zonta clubs help uphold social justice by participating in service and advocacy projects in communities around the globe and promoting our Zonta Says NO to Violence Against Women campaign.
