Zonta’s global impact seen in Annual Report and service project updates

It is my pleasure to announce that the 2015-2016 Annual Report for Zonta International and the Zonta International Foundation is now available.

On behalf of the Zonta International and Zonta International Foundation Boards, we appreciate our members, clubs and the many friends of Zonta for their generosity and commitment to supporting our mission of empowering women worldwide through service and advocacy.

I am proud of the work we achieved last year, and I am looking forward to what we will achieve in the next year and in the 2016-2018 Biennium. Through our partnerships with United Nations agencies, we are continuing to reduce early marriage and early pregnancy in Niger and are contributing to the elimination of obstetric fistula and the reduction of maternal mortality, morbidity and sexual violence in Liberia. We are also working to create opportunities for vulnerable and excluded girls to realize their rights to an education in a secure and protective environment in Madagascar and to create sustainable foundations for addressing the link between human trafficking and foreign labor migration of women and girls in Nepal.

We have received progress reports for three of our projects this biennium, which I am excited to share. I hope you take the time to read these updates and are encouraged by the progress we are making.

Additionally, we have published a final report and two human interest stories from the HIV and gender-based violence project we supported in Rwanda for eight years.

In addition, we continue to support extraordinary women around the globe in the fields of aerospace-related science and engineering, business and public affairs through our Amelia Earhart Fellowship, Jane M. Klausman Women in Business Scholarship and Young Women in Public Affairs Award. This biennium, we will contribute approximately US$1,000,000 to our education programs, enabling recipients to further their educational and career goals, while ensuring that these talented women are given the opportunities to succeed in these fields.

Thank you, again, for your continued generosity and support.
