Zonta’s sixth Zonta Says NO to Violence Against Women campaign and the 16 Days of Activism ended on Sunday, 10 December.
During the Zonta Says NO campaign, we encouraged our clubs to take local, national and international actions to influence the making and implementation of laws, as well as changing gender-based attitudes and behaviors to end violence against women.
We are happy with the variety of activities and strength of the actions we have seen this year—from Zonta clubs and student clubs lighting up landmarks in orange, to hosting and participating in marches and parades, convening town hall meetings and forums, meeting with local representatives, and more. You can read all of these stories here: zontasaysno.com/zontiansinaction.
Members on every continent in which Zonta has a club participated in the campaign. So far, we have stories from 22 countries, with 24 Zonta districts and Region South America involved in activities to end violence against women.
We are still collecting stories of action and impact. If your club has not done so already, please use our online form to report your actions.
Thanks to all Zonta clubs, Z and Golden Z clubs, and club members for your creativity in this year’s campaign. To eradicate violence against women permanently, we need persistent and continued work every week of the year, so let us continue and follow up with all the engagement and stubbornness that we have – we will never give up!
