Dr. Irit Idan, Amelia Earhart Fellow, appointed to advisory board of Ondas Autonomous Systems

Zonta International congratulates Dr. Irit Idan, a distinguished recipient of the Amelia Earhart Fellowship, on her appointment to the advisory board of Ondas Autonomous Systems, a subsidiary of Ondas Holdings Inc.

Dr. Idan exemplifies the impact of women in STEM who are shaping the future of technology and leadership. The Amelia Earhart Fellowship supports women pursuing Ph.D. or doctoral degrees in aerospace-applied sciences and engineering, empowering leaders like Dr. Idan to reach new heights in their careers.

Reflecting on the recognition she received early in her career, Dr. Idan shared her gratitude with Zonta International:

“As a recipient of the Amelia Earhart Award three times, I just want to take a moment to thank you for the opportunity and the trust you gave me more than 30 years ago. Back then, I was a young PhD student working on my astrophysics thesis, and receiving your recognition was an incredible honor. Being the first Israeli woman to receive the medal—and later watching other women follow that path—fills me with pride to this day.

Over the years, I’ve worked hard to encourage women into STEM, from early education to universities, and throughout my career in the defense industry. Many times, I was the only woman in the room, and I understood the importance of being a role model and helping others climb the ladder.

So, after seeing your LinkedIn post about my nomination to the Ondas Advisory Board, I felt it was also the right moment to thank you for everything you do to support women in STEM.”
