Why create Z clubs and Golden Z clubs
Creating Z clubs and Golden Z clubs is a powerful way to introduce young people to the values of gender equality and women’s empowerment, and for encouraging them to stand firmly against violence. These clubs also offer students a remarkable opportunity to develop their skills while making a meaningful impact in their communities.
By engaging with student members, we forge a connection to our mission, making them feel empowered in their efforts to improve the lives of women and girls. We remind them that, regardless of their age, they possess the power to create a better world. It is vital to ensure the longevity of these student clubs.
Generation Zonta leading by example
Student members are making a remarkable impact in their communities and beyond through a vibrant array of projects and collaborations.
Under the mentorship of the Zonta Club of Santa Clarita Valley, USA, their Z clubs and Golden Z clubs have energized their communities by hosting dynamic conferences and retreats featuring inspiring speakers. They have made significant strides in educational outreach, tackling critical issues, and organizing product drives to combat period poverty. During Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month, they took charge of their own empowerment through self-defense workshops. And, they celebrated Women’s History Month with heartfelt presentations honoring local heroines.
Notably, the Golden Z Club of New Dawn in Taiwan has gained recognition for its outstanding fundraising initiatives. Their recent efforts to support war victims in Ukraine reflect their deep compassion and a strong commitment to creating meaningful change. These projects not only gather vital resources but also inspire community engagement, showcasing the incredible strength of young voices united for a common cause.
The Golden Z Club at Penn State Harrisburg, USA has also collaborated with their sponsoring Zonta club to organize diaper banks, conduct clothing drives for survivors of sexual assault, and plan a rally in November 2025 to combat food insecurity. These efforts exemplify their dedication to social causes and their commitment to making a difference.
Zonta youth members are showcasing exceptional initiative in networking, advocacy and service. Whether undertaking local, national or international projects, the interaction of our Z clubs and Golden Z clubs highlights how young people from diverse backgrounds can connect, share values and build lasting friendships.
What can Generation Zonta gain from Zonta?
The most valuable gift our student members receive is the powerful connections forged along their journey. They meet peers who share their passion for empowering women and often have common interests in human rights, environmental protection, leadership and social justice.
Equally important, student members gain mentors—Zonta members who graciously dedicate their time, expertise and encouragement to the vital cause of protecting women from violence and advancing equality through leadership and education. For many students, these mentors become role models and interacting with such dedicated and inspiring members create transformative experiences that can shape a lifetime.
As Zontians mentor students, they pass along invaluable knowledge and leadership skills, ensuring that the essence of Zonta remains vibrant and impactful. Together, we can inspire a legacy that resonates for decades to come.
Bridging the gap
As a dedicated member of Zonta Harrisburg-Hershey, USA, and an adjunct professor at Penn State Harrisburg, Zontian Heather Jackson serves as a vital liaison between her club and their sponsoring Golden Z club. She has seen firsthand how Zontians and student members unite in a collaborative partnership, fueled by a shared mission to elevate communities through service and advocacy.
"Zonta and Golden Z work together on each others' projects. They like and care about each other and making the world a better place through service projects and advocacy," Heather said. "The members of Golden Z provide the enthusiasm of youth and energy while Zonta gives them experience, wisdom, and role models ... The Golden Z members give support and Zonta returns it. What a pleasure it is to watch the growth of the members of Golden Z and to know you helped to mentor them. We celebrate each other."
