Remarkable global influencer, environmentalist and advocate shares her powerful story

Kehkashan Basu is a TEDx speaker, climate reality mentor, author, musician and dedicated campaigner for peace and sustainability while embodying the spirit of change. She has received Canada’s Meritorious Service Medal and is the only Canadian to win the International Children’s Peace Prize. Celebrated in the Forbes 30 Under 30 list, she is also the first recipient of the Voices Youth Gorbachev-Schultz Legacy Award for her impactful efforts in nuclear disarmament.

Recognized as a United Nations Human Rights Champion, a National Geographic Young Explorer, a UNCCD Land Hero and a UN Habitat Young City Champion, Kehkashan has significantly contributed to various international organizations. Serving as the regional organizing partner for North America for the NGO Major Group, she has earned her place among Canada’s Top 25 Women of Influence.
