Her work amplifies the leadership of women driving peace efforts worldwide. She has co-led impactful feminist delegations to conflict zones, including Palestine and Ukraine. Her dedication encompasses disarmament, women's leadership in peace processes and high-level advocacy, all supported by her background in international law and grassroots organizing.

A published author and a frequent contributor to media and podcasts, including a chapter in The Oxford Handbook of Women, Peace, and Security, Maria also serves on several influential boards, such as Ireland's National Action Plan Oversight Group on Women, Peace, and Security and the Advisory Board of the Centre for Human Rights at University College Dublin.

Maria met with Lynne Foley OAM, host of the Remarkable Women, Powerful Stories podcast, to illuminate the often-overlooked and underfunded contributions of women to their communities during times of peace, war and reconstruction.
