Remarkable advocate against gender-based discrimination and violence shares her powerful story
Natalie Jobe is deeply committed to addressing gender-based discrimination and violence by developing comprehensive educational initiatives and promoting equitable legislation.
Natalie led the Intersectional Feminist Advocates to promote the Menstrual Dignity Act resulting in free feminine hygiene products for students. She founded the Dismantling Domestic Violence Project and secured a US$5,000 grant for local shelters. During the 2023 Oregon Legislative Session, she interned with a state representative on gun fatality prevention related to gender-based violence, assisting in the creation of H.B. 2005A, which penalizes the sale of undetectable firearms.
Natalie met with Lynne Foley OAM, host of the Remarkable Women, Powerful Stories podcast, to discuss the powerful influence of the women in her childhood, who taught her the importance of using her voice to advocate for herself and others. Natalie now channels these strengths to courageously address gender-based discrimination and violence through her impactful work in local government and the educational system.
