Zonta responds to wildfires in California

As we all watch media coverage of the unprecedented wildfires raging through Southern California this week, our thoughts are with our local Zonta members, their families and communities and those individuals who have been evacuated or lost homes or businesses and, as a result, their sense of safety and security. 

Zonta International President Salla Tuominen has been in touch with District 9 Governor Gloria Salas and Area Director Britt Vaughan, and all Zonta members are currently safe and accounted for, although some have been forced to evacuate their homes while others are dealing with poor air quality, no electricity and lack of water.

Our thoughts remain with our local Zontians and the communities they call home, as firefighters continue to work to contain the fires. We will provide further updates from Zontians as they are available.
