Meet our host: Lynne Foley, OAM

“I channel my energy into influencing and supporting each woman I meet to be empowered to reach her aspirations. I intend my legacy to be the contribution I make to achieving gender equality, through opening doors to education for women and girls.”

An exciting motivational speaker, Lynne Foley, OAM, is passionate about leaving her audience with new ideas, thoughts and challenges and full of confidence to break through personal and professional barriers. She works professionally by facilitating leadership programs for individuals and organizations whose mission is to empower women and men through personal and leadership development. Lynne is an accredited and highly respected executive coach, speaker, consultant and educator, gaining her experience through successful executive leadership, consulting, board chair and director roles. As chair of the Zonta Spirit Working Group, Lynne implements the organization’s global strategy to meet the leadership needs of members, clubs and districts  facilitates at conferences and workshops.

Meet Anna Segall

Anna Segall is the chief executive of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS). Before joining WAGGGS in 2020, she worked with the UN, the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement and other international development NGOs.

As a lawyer, Anna is passionate about the rights of women and girls, refugees and victims of armed conflict. She has worked in human rights and humanitarian law with the Red Cross. She was also the director of international standards and legal affairs with UNESCO. Anna was the director of legal affairs and the director of field operations (Jordan) with the UN Agency for Palestine Refugees, which provides protection and assistance to Palestinian refugees in Gaza, the West Bank, Jordan, Lebanon and Syria. 

Anna has also served as a trustee and has had advisory roles with WaterAid, Hope and Homes for Children, and the Mines Advisory Group (MAG). WaterAid transforms lives by improving access to safe water, hygiene and sanitation in the world's poorest communities. Hope and Homes for Children is a global expert working to replace institutional care of children. MAG is a global humanitarian and advocacy organization that removes and destroys landmines, bombs and munitions from places affected by conflict.
