Zonta Club of Aparri awards 2nd Youth Leadership Award
On 20 May, the Zonta Club of Aparri, Philippines, participated in the Recognition Program of the College of Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences (CFAS), Cagayan State University Aparri Campus, celebrating academic achievement, leadership and service.
A highlight of the event was the 2nd Zonta Club of Aparri Youth Leadership Award to Mr. Mark Jexrel Cristobal, President of the Golden ZFAS Club and a graduating Cum Laude student. Established in 2025, the award recognizes outstanding student leaders who exemplify excellence, integrity, service and a commitment to making a positive impact in their communities.
The club also presented Service Awards to active members in recognition of their dedication, commitment and valuable contributions to the mission and advocacies of the Zonta Club.
In recognition of the strong partnership between the organizations, Plaques of Appreciation were awarded to Dr. Quirino G. Pascua, dean of the College of Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences, and to the Golden ZFAS Club for their support and collaboration in advancing leadership development and community service initiatives.
The Zonta Club of Aparri congratulated Cristobal on both his academic achievement and his selection as this year’s Youth Leadership Award recipient. Club leaders noted that his accomplishments reflect the values of excellence, perseverance and servant leadership that the award seeks to promote.
The event also marked a significant moment for the club as it took place during the closing days of the term of Club President Liciel Antiporda-Ontiveros, under whose leadership the Zonta Club of Aparri Youth Leadership Award was established.
Club members said the occasion served as a reminder of the importance of investing in young leaders, recognizing dedicated service and fostering partnerships that create lasting impact within the community.
The Zonta Club of Aparri extended its congratulations to all awardees, graduates and partners and reaffirmed its commitment to empowering future leaders and building a better world for women and girls.
