District 17 Area 4 Meeting

The Zonta Clubs of Central Tuguegarao, Tuguegarao, Aparri, and Northern Cagayan and Apayao, Philippines, jointly hosted the 2nd Area 4 Biennium Meeting on 16-17 May in Sta. Ana, Cagayan, bringing together Zonta leaders, District 17 representatives and members to celebrate the accomplishments of the 2024-2026 biennium and prepare for the next biennium.

The meeting opened with a flag parade and entrance of colors, followed by the call to order from Area 4 Director Raquel C. Reyes-Aglaua. Distinguished guests included Area 5 Director and Lieutenant District Governor-Elect Susan Lim, District 17 Nominating Committee Chair-Elect and Past Area Director Ligaya Tan-Miguel, District 17 Country Club Creator and Past Area Director Mila Catabay-Lauigan, and Area 4 Ambassador for the Zonta Foundation for Women and Past Area Director Ana Carmela Remigio.

Representing Sta. Ana Mayor Nelson P. Robinion, Tourism Officer Designate Diana Rose A. Lopez delivered a message recognizing Zontians for their commitment to advancing gender equality and empowering women and girls.

A highlight of the meeting was the presentation of reports from the 12 Area 4 clubs, showcasing advocacy, service and climate justice initiatives carried out during the second half of the biennium. The reports demonstrated the collective impact of Area 4 clubs in improving the lives of women, children and communities across Northern Luzon.

District 17 Nominating Committee Chair-Elect Ligaya Tan-Miguel delivered an inspirational message, encouraging members to build on their accomplishments and continue advancing Zonta's mission. She challenged members to strive for even greater impact in the 2026-2028 biennium, noting Area 4's strong tradition of leadership and service.

The meeting concluded with a turnover ceremony, celebrating the achievements of the outgoing biennium and reaffirming Area 4's commitment to building a better world for women and girls.
