World Environment Day clean-up
In celebration of World Environment Day on 5 June, the Geographe Bay Z Club members headed to the beach for a coastline clean-up.
Following a wild storm the previous week, the group collected a large amount of debris, including driftwood, pipes and other washed-up materials, as well as countless microplastics and general litter.
Geographe Bay Z Club School Advisor Dee Shade said, “It was a wonderful way to end the week, with the Z Club members making a positive impact on both their local community and the marine environment. Every piece of rubbish removed helps protect our precious ocean wildlife from the dangers of pollution and entanglement."
During the initiative, the club showed fantastic effort and commitment to caring for the coastline.
