Zonta Club of Makati and Environs celebrates International Women's Day with knowledge

The Zonta Club of Makati and Environs, Philippines, partnered with the Makati Social Welfare Department to celebrate International Women's Day with 120 students at the University of Makati and hear from Dr. Camille Garcia about mental health awareness, teenage pregnancy, and depression. The topics truly resonated with the audience through the speakers' storytelling style. Many questions about real-life situations were asked and consulted, eliciting valuable expert responses.

Camilla is a well-known educator and television personality from the Face to Face program.

Following the talk, a riveting panel discussion took place. These panelists were thoughtfully selected to represent the key individuals and agencies the students can contact for assistance. Numerous follow-up questions and consultations continued after the discussion, covering topics such as awareness, root causes, support systems, laws and policies, education and prevention, engaging men and boys in preventing VAWC (Violence Against Women and Children) and the media's role in shaping perception and transforming these channels as a vehicle for change.
