Zonta Club of Defiance Funds Annual Projects Through Yearly Luncheon

For the past 11 years, the Zonta Club of Defiance has consistently held a luncheon to raise funds for local and international projects.

Since 2008, the club has raised more than US$90,000. The money goes to projects such as a discounted mammogram program, Zonta Tools Needed for Transformation Bags event, birthing, and personal hygiene kits for women in developing countries, as well as toiletries for disadvantaged high school students.

The District 5 club's sold-out event brings in over 200 guests.

At each event, a different speaker is invited to address the crowd. In the past, cancer survivors, physicians, and health food experts have all spoken.

The luncheon, held each October, is the club's main fundraising event.
