Zonta Club of Cebu II empowers local children and environment

The Zonta Club of Cebu II, Philippines, engaged in multiple club activities to provide medical and legal aid at a local children's center and clean up their community.

Medical and legal aid

On 1 November, the club collaborated with the local Philippine Academy of Family Physicians (PAFP) and the Integrate Bar of the Philippines to offer a medical and legal aid endeavor at the Home of Hope (HOMe), a center for children in conflict with the law.

The adult patients were the personnel of the facility, who took advantage of the physicians' presence and lined up for consultations too. The club donated medicines for immediate needs to the infirmary of the HOMe.

Mangrove clean-up

On 24 October, the club held a mangrove area clean-up at Barangay Jugan, Consolacion, Cebu. Joining them were enthusiastic students from Our Lady of Joy Learning Center and members and staff from the Municipal Agriculture Department. The club and friends collected nearly 130 kilos of garbage, mostly plastic.
