Zonta Club of Glens Falls celebrates International Women's Day

The Zonta Club of Glens Falls, USA, successfully celebrated International Women's Day by hosting a climate action panel discussion and luncheon. The panel consisted of four founding members of a climate activism group called North Country Earth Action, working in the New York capital district.

The focus of each panelist represented the following topics:

  • Climate change is a "code red" crisis.
  • How are women and children are disproportionately affected by climate change?
  • A historical perspective of women scientists and activists made a difference and brought awareness to the effects of climate change.
  • By compiling the local resources, groups and grassroots efforts in their community, we can address climate change.

The event attracted 80 attendees, and they had an opportunity to comment and ask questions towards the end. Many of them donated to support the work of these climate change "eco-feminists."
