Zonta Club of Ilocos Norte holds forum on climate change

The Zonta Club of Ilocos Norte, Philippines, coordinated with the Laoag City Environment and Natural Resources office to hold an Environmental Forum. The forum discussed why climate change is an emergency issue and how to help preserve resources and the environment by practicing Ecological Waste Management via correct segregation of waste. No matter how small, making a change will help create a more sustainable future.

Climate change is a major global problem that needs to be addressed. From carbon emissions from fossil fuels to deforestation and even everyday human activity contribute to the alarming rate of the Earth's warming. Many countries like the Philippines feel the effects of strong typhoons, flash floods, and other sudden natural disasters. The unpredictable changes in weather affect everything from the migration of fish to the seasons for farming which are very much livelihoods for many Filipinos.
