Zonta Club of Makati and Environs brings holiday cheer through service and advocacy
During the holiday season, the Zonta Club of Makati and Environs, the Philippines, continued to empower their community through numerous club activities.
The club launched its "Empowering Women Scholarship Program" by donating books to the Zonta Makati and Environs Foundation Library Corner at the Polytechnic University of the Philippines.
On 16 December, the club gifted 150 Christmas presents to the beneficiaries of its KavavaihanZ and GK Village programs at the Women Empowerment Center.
Fundraising for young survivors
For the past 25 years, the club's psychological center has provided psychological support for more than 10,000 sexually abused girls in Marillac Hills.
This year, the club decided to raise donations in the form of Christmas cards featuring some of the girls' artwork from their art therapy sessions. By encouraging others to buy these cards, the funds raised will go a long way in ensuring the continuous therapy of the survivors.
