Zonta clubs in Norway participates in national fundraiser to fight against child marriage

Every year on the last Sunday of October, there is a huge national fundraising event in Norway. This year, the campaign supported Plan Norway and the theme was Girls, Not Bride.

As ending child marriage is one of Zonta's international service projects, the Zonta clubs in Norway participated in the campaign by donating and walking door-to-door collecting money.

Every door was visited all over the country with thousands of volunteers in action. All Norwegians participated in the campaign to fight against child marriage, including the government, the Prime Minister, school students and businesses. Even King Harald V of Norway participated.

In the end, more than 243 million Norwegian kroner, which is 28 million USD, was raised. This money will reach out to 3 million girls.
