Zonta International District 31 Conference in Tainan

The 10th Zonta International District 31 Conference was held for the first time in Tainan, Taiwan’s cultural capital, organized by the Zonta Club of Tainan Charming, Taiwan, and hosted by former Tainan City Tourism Bureau Director Louisa Kuo. More than 300 members from Italy, Mongolia and across Taiwan gathered under the theme “Build a Better World for Women and Girls.”

The two-day event highlighted Zonta’s century-long commitment to advancing gender equality through service, advocacy and leadership. Attendees shared achievements, strategies and success stories from clubs worldwide, while recognizing members who have made outstanding contributions to women’s empowerment and community service.

Tainan Mayor Huang Wei-Che welcomed participants and praised Zonta’s impact on social progress, describing the organization as a “powerful force for positive change.” Zonta International President-Elect Fernanda Gallo-Freschi commended District 31’s dedication and perseverance, noting that women’s rights continue to face global challenges. Still, the Zonta spirit remains a beacon of courage and collaboration.

District 31 Governor Diana Cheng celebrated the district’s recognition as first place worldwide in the Zonta Foundation donation competition at the Brisbane convention, citing it as proof of members’ compassion and commitment. Conference Chair and Club President Vicky Huang expressed hope that the event would strengthen Zonta’s unity and extend its vision globally. District 31 reaffirmed its pledge to expand cooperation and uphold Zonta’s mission of service and equality, with members looking ahead to the 2026 Zonta International Convention in Vancouver, Canada.
