Zonta Club of Tampere I celebrates Earth Day

The Zonta Club of Tampere I, Finland, celebrated Earth Day by hosting an open evening titled “Women Perspectives: Climate Actions are Health Actions,” in collaboration with the movement Aktivistimummot (Activist Grandmas).

The event brought together a range of speakers and panelists, including the deputy mayor of the City of Tampere, two climate doctors, an infectious diseases specialist and a postdoctoral researcher in human movement science.

Attendees received insights on the connections between climate action and public health, gaining practical knowledge and perspectives to take back to their communities.

Speakers emphasized the importance of individual and collective responsibility, with one expert noting that human agency and action bring hope.
