Zonta Club of Springfield, OH provides precious memories for mothers and daughters

The Zonta Club of Springfield, OH, USA, recently empowered its community with art and a scholarship.

Bury and Bloom: Printmaking
With the Springfield Museum of Art, the club held its annual Project Zonta: Bury and Bloom. With six days of printmaking, local mother and daughters had the opportunity to spend quality and inspire each other.

Mothers and daughters sketched, carved, and printed flowers, each of which had a special meaning. The club celebrated their creations at a special dinner and art show for the mother and daughters and the women who inspire them.

Dr. Shirley Schneider Scholarship
The club invited Toni Overholser from Clark State College to speak about its Dr. Shirley Schneider Scholarship and share her testimonials. This year, the scholarship awarded US $5,250 to its recipients.

The scholarship was created in honor of Past International President Shirley Schneider, a local dentist and a member of the Zonta Club of Springfield for 50 years, by Zontian Susan Page. This scholarship was made to honor Dr. Shirley Schneider by club member Susan Page to help non-traditional students achieve their dreams. The club would like to thank District 5 Governor Eileen Borchardt and guests Andrea Seagraves and Marcia Flax for attending the meeting.
