Centennial Anniversary Grants

Stories of Impact: Zonta Centennial Anniversary Grantees make a difference for women and girls

In honor of Zonta's centennial anniversary in 2019, Zonta International awarded one-time grants of up to US$5,000 each to recognized charitable organizations. Each grant was dedicated to improve the lives of women and girls in the local community.

A total of US$296,271 was disbursed to 62 organizations in 18 countries, partnering with a Zonta club. Following are stories of impact from some of our Zonta International Centennial Anniversary Grantees.

My Transcarpathia

Without Borders Sri Lanka

Women’s Community Aid Association

The Women’s Community Aid Association and the Zonta Club of Brisbane Breakfast Inc partnered to purchase new computers for the organization’s library space, as the existing systems were outdated.



Operation Shield

The Zonta Club of Blackfoot and Operation Shield partnered to open the Advocacy Center, a safe location where commercial sex trafficking survivors can receive trauma counseling and support to recover from their experiences.



National Association for the Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect

The National Association for the Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect partnered with the Zonta Club of Brisbane East Inc to train additional facilitators to conduct LOVEBiTES, a well-recognized respectful relationships program, in more schools.



Help for Mankind Initiative

Rape Crisis Center for the Coastal Empire

Partnering with the Zonta Club of Savannah, Georgia the Rape Crisis Center for the Coastal Empire hosted the Raising Up Girls program (Camp Thrive) for 80 girls.



Pace Center for Girls, Leon

The Pace Center for Girls, Leon partnered with the Zonta Club of Tallahassee, Florida for its Healing with the Arts (HEART) program, which provides arts education to 120 Pace students annually.



The Women's Home

The Women’s Home partnered with the Zonta Club of Houston for help with its Treatment and Transitional Housing Program for women struggling with homelessness and co-occurring disorders.



Mobility International USA

With a Zonta International US$5,000 grant, 22 women with disabilities benefitted directly from the Women’s Institute on Leadership and Disability training in Eugene, Oregon, USA.



Kendall County Women’s Shelter

The Kendall County Women’s Shelter partnered with the Zonta Club of Fredericksburg for the Client Assistance Program, which focuses on meeting the basic needs of victims of domestic violence.
