Two Zontians Fulfill Bucket List Dream in Honor of Zonta

Two Zontians recently jumped from a plane in the sky in the name of some of Zonta’s most important projects.

For Alieena Delaporte from the Zonta Club of Riverside, District 9, and Laura Peters from the Zonta Club of Newport Harbor, District 9, skydiving was a bucket list item.

The two friends decided to do the adventurous activity in the name of ending child marriage and Zonta’s campaign to say no to violence against women.

“Our instructors asked about Zonta and thought it was cool that we were jumping to make a statement for women and girls,” Peters said.

Peters and Delaporte did a sunset jump in San Diego. They climbed to 15,000 feet, falling at 120 mph.

“We did a tandem skydive and it was the most fun and exhilarating things I have ever done,” Peters said.
