Zonta Club of Central Tuguegarao donates life vests after flooding

On 3 July, the Zonta Club of Central Tuguegarao, Philippines, gave out the life vests as part of its disaster prevention program. Representatives from selected barangays in Tuguegarao City's flood prone areas received five to ten life vests.

The project is funded by donations for relief, rehabilitation and disaster prevention in the wake of the massive flooding last year. The relief phase was completed early this year while rehabilitation and disaster prevention continues in the form of environmental activities, livelihood projects and distribution of life vests and survival kits.

As their rainy season approaches, the club is doing its best to assist barangay officials in preparing for possible typhoon related emergencies and rescue operations. The community might not be able to control the weather, but they can help each other stay safe.
