On 21 July, 2021, the Zonta Club of Dhaka IV, Bangladesh, celebrated their 27th anniversary!

The club was formed on 4 June, 1994 and chartered on 21 July, 1994. The charter ceremony was held on 16 and 17 March 1995, graced by past District 25 Governor Manu Motho Krishna from Srilanka. The charter certificate was signed by past Zonta International President Folake Solanke SAN.

They started with 60 charter members and worked together to achieve its goals, make friends and turn words into action. Today, the club continues to be filled with a well-blended mix of talent, intelligence and sincere members to contribute to the community to empower women.

Since then, the club has elected 14 presidents and two District 25 governors who have all led the Club forward. Each one left her mark as she took the club towards meeting its goals.

Members of the club truly feel like family. They interact, have fun together and share each member’s happiness and sorrows. As proud Zonta members, the club currently has 64 members who have focused on diverse projects surrounding girls’ education, computer training, skill development of tailoring and sewing, critical care training for nurses, training for garments factory workers and ending child marriage during Zonta Says NO.

The club would like to thank their members who wholehearted support and inspire each other to undertake ambitious and challenging projects and programs for the underprivileged girls and women in our society to fulfils Zonta’s mission.
