Zonta Club of Fort Collins hosts live event for Domestic Violence Awareness Month

On 24 October 2020, the Zonta Club of Fort Collins, USA, held a two-hour Facebook Live advocacy event for Domestic Violence Awareness Month. With a host and seven guest speakers, the event discussed building awareness of domestic and sexual violence in the community, providing contact information and discussing services.

The event began with an opening welcome from the club’s president, followed by a presentation about Zonta by the Zonta Club of Colorado North Forty. Serving as the host, the club’s vice president introduced each speaker and asked questions from the audience. The speakers were a Front Range Community College disability services representative and executive directors from Crossroads Safehouse, SAVA - Sexual Assault Victims Advocate Center, Alternatives to Violence and The Ashley Doolittle Foundation. The club has worked with each of these organizations for many years as a support to a shared mission to build awareness of violence and support services in the local community.

The live event reached 396 people on Facebook and over 25 on Zoom, which included Zontians from local clubs and districts.
