Zonta Club of Naples raises awareness of issues affecting women and girls with virtual town hall meetings

The Zonta Club of Naples, USA, hosted two virtual town hall meetings titled “The More You Know” in September and October.

The first meeting took place on 24 September and offered information on local programs and services for abused women and children as well as information on the impact of COVID-19 on marginalized women and girls. The keynote speaker was Linda Oberhaus, CEO of The Shelter for Abused Women & Children in Naples, Florida.

The second meeting took place on 22 October and covered mental health. Lee County Schools employees discussed the impacts of COVID-19 on children, the Florida human trafficking curriculum, and other mental health and wellness issues. The keynote speakers were Linda Brooks, director of School Counseling and Mental Health Services for the School District of Lee County, and Sherry Wenzel, coordinator of Mental Health Services for the School District of Lee County.
